Fallen

I peer over the cliffand pray silently that the pain will be subtle and quick. I close my eyes and smile as my tears run down my face, mixing with the rain drops as they cascading from the sky. I look down again and brace myself. I close my eyes....and jump.

I'm falling. I can feel the air rush past me. The rain is falling lighter as I near the ground. A few minutes and it will end. The pain, the memories, and the chaos will vanish into a few drops of blood.

I'm flying. The sun breaks through and I soar; seconds before I hit the ground. I fly above my pain, my loss, but most importantly...I soar above myself. I am stronger now that I have risen, I can succeed.

I awake. I look around at my surroundings. I wipe away my tears and smile at my newfound strength. I get up and get ready to face a new day, with a better perspective. I can succeed. It is my destiny to rise.
